I know this is a couple of days late, but the baby has been sick this week… enough said. So today’s subject will be no surprise…
Day 14 – I am thankful for people in the healthcare industry.
Doctors, nurses, technicians, EMTs, dentists, physical therapists, chiropractors, hopsice personnel, music therapists, counselors and psychologists and psychiatrists.
Office managers, insurance company customer service reps, after-hour hotline nurses, Pink Ladies (and Gentlemen), custodians and food service employees in hospitals.
Equipment technicians, pharmaceutical reps, pharmacists, and scientists at universities, pharmaceutical companies, and the CDC.
Did I miss anyone?
Oh yes, I am thankful for moms who can nurse sick little ones back to health with Vapo-Rub, a humidifier, saline nose drops, chicken soup, and lots of love. (and very little sleep)
The baby is getting better.
My heart is overflowing with gratitude for…
…Wendy, the midnight-hour nurse on the other end of the phone
…Amy, our awesome pharmacist
…Dr. Thompson, who is filling in for our pediatrician and doing an amazing job
…my husband, who says he does not know how to “mother” our children, but willingly takes his turn holding and rocking and shushing and soothing and snuggling sleepy feverish babies in the middle of the night.
Thank You, God, for all the ones mentioned above, and any I may have left off the list accidentally. Thank You for the gifts of healing and compassion with which you have blessed us through these people.
