Time to begin another busy week!  Mondays, to me, seem ironic: I dread them because I know it’s hard sometimes to jump back into the work week – but at the same time it can be exciting to jump in and see what the week ahead has in store…

I think I feel this way because I know all too well the truth found in Ecclesiastes 3…  there is a time for everything.

Ecclesiastes 3

Everything Has Its Time

 1 To everything there is a season,

      A time for every purpose under heaven:
       2 A time to be born,
And a time to die;
      A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
       3 A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
      A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
       4 A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
      A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
       5 A time to cast away stones,
And a time to gather stones;
      A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;
       6 A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
      A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;
       7 A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
      A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
       8 A time to love,
And a time to hate;
      A time of war,
And a time of peace.

The thing is, you can’t always be sure which “time” is coming next.  In His wisdom, God has hidden the knowledge of future events from mankind.  I mean, who in their right mind would choose to get out of bed if they knew that today was the day…

…they would get into a fender bender on the way to work

…they would receive an unexpected bill in the mail

…they would find out that they or a loved one has cancer

…they would lose their job

…they would lose their home to fire or natural disaster

…they would lose a loved one

There is one thing we can know about the future.  God promises to give us His grace, and that it will be sufficient in every situation.  The apostle Paul knew what it was like to have bad days.  This is what God told him:  “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9a)  God’s grace is His mercy, kindness, love, and favor given to us, even though we don’t deserve it.

So, we know that we can face this Monday, and each day of our future, with the assurance that God will pour out His grace on us if we will live our lives for Him.  That’s a promise to cling to!

The weather has turned so nice, breezy, and cool here – it’s hard to believe that this is the same Deep South that set records for heat during the summer.  A couple of times last week I was able to put the baby in the stroller and take a walk – without risking heat stroke!  On Saturday A.W., A.G., and I walked to the local park and had so much fun playing together.  It was A.G.’s first trip to the park, and she really enjoyed it!  She especially loved watching her big brother play.

Getting out and walking during the past week has done a lot for my energy level and my mood.  So I challenge you to make some time today to go for a walk.  Even a short stroll, alone or with someone special, will be a relaxing way to do something good for YOU!

Love you guys! Have a wonderfully blessed Monday!
