The LORD is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid? ~ Ps. 27:1
When things are going well we tend to enjoy it, and maybe (just maybe) take the smooth ride for granted. But when we encounter dark times, when we feel insecure, when we are weak – those are the times when we are reminded that we are depending on our Creator God for our very next breath.
God brings light to the darkness. If you’re stuck in a jam, or an unfamiliar place, or even a dangerous situation, you can’t see your way out in the dark. But God always knows the way out, and He will show you when you ask.
God gives security and hope for the future. He gives salvation to the hell-bound person who turns away from his sins, accepts Christ’s sacrificial death and subsequent triumph over sin, and allows God to be Lord of his life.
God gives strength to us when we feel like we don’t have anything left to give. His grace flows into us, and we can rest in Him, trusting Him to carry us through our current situation.
There’s no reason to fear anymore. God gives light, salvation, and strength to all who come humbly before Him. He’s a great big God and He can handle anything we bring to Him. Just try it and see.
Have a wonderful Sunday! I pray that you have a restful, safe day. Worship our Lord, for He is worthy of our praise!
